10 Lessons in 10 Years: Living and Leading Authentically
On April 29, 2015, I began a life that would excavate my insides and make me who I am. I took a path that alienated me from many, and brought me closer and closer to myself. It was a path of reclaiming who I really am, beyond the masks of trauma.
As I celebrate today, the 10-year anniversary of this journey, with Alchemus Prime, which is an embodiment of who I am, I’d like to share 10 lessons out of many that I’ve learned and shared through my work via courses, workshops, books, coaching, and facilitation:
- Building a virtuous relationship with our food means building a sacred relationship with its source: Mother Nature.
- Personal wellness is a pathway to planetary wellness. If you see yourself as Nature, your goal is to harm no one.
- Four ethics are necessary to live well: do no harm, love yourself, have integrity, and extend compassion to all life.
- Relationships require a basic standard: be present, be authentic, be accountable, be communicative and be loving.
- Self-love is the foundation for all relationships because it establishes an authentically loving relationship with self.
- Trauma causes us to behave in harmful patterned ways and can control our relationships; healing is one of the hardest and most rewarding undertakings.
- Narcissistic abuse is destructive in relationships but bulletproof self-love and strong boundaries bring protection against further abuse.
- You contain all the facets of belonging as you are, right here and right now; who you are is enough.
- Self-compassion, reflection, meditation, observation of the mind, and being present are our strongest allies for healing.
- Finding ways to feel safe enough to return to love is what healing is really about.
Details of these lessons can be found in our books. Share your reflections on the last 10 years of your life – what are your lessons and where would you like to be in the next 10 years?
