4 Ways to Find Spiritual Paradise
I just returned from an epic trip to India for the inauguration of the world’s largest meditation hall. Kanha Shanti Vanam, the global headquarters of Heartfulness, lies outside of Hyderabad and contains this enormous meditation center. A beautiful green campus teeming with volunteers still working on various construction projects, this ashram boasts more trees than people on any given day. Except perhaps during Bhandara, the spiritual festival that happens a few times a year and brings together tens of thousands of people to meditate together.
In January and February 2020, there were three Bhandaras back to back. I attended all three, and stayed afterwards to soak up the spiritual energy for a few extra days. As I reflected on my experiences of healing, connection and rejuvenation, I realized (as I do every time I go to Kanha) that I was in spiritual paradise. Here are 4 ways to know you’ve found it:
- Love is the foundation – at Kanha you feel love in everything: the trees, flowers, food, buildings and of course, the people.
- Nature is paramount – the ashram is an integrated facility with grey water systems, nurseries and gardens, as well as a plastic-free policy. The Heartfulness meditation system itself follows Nature’s laws.
- Harmony emanates – during Bhandaras and in general, one can find inner and collective harmony through this meditation system. It’s a profound demonstration of collective harmony.
- It’s all about behavior – there is an emphasis on our daily actions to weave our destiny. Attention to our heart offers an alignment between head, heart, and hands, leading to an overall coherence that supports humans and the rest of Nature. Something we desperately need in these chaotic times.
For the third time in a year, I’ve had the profound privilege of experiencing spiritual paradise. I am grateful. But, don’t take my word for it – check it out for yourself. One quick way to feel the power of Heartfulness is through our monthly webinar series which includes an experience of meditation using this technique – check it out.
