Celebrating Diversity: Our 15th Book Launch
As I reflect on the books I’ve written, this one stands out because it wasn’t planned, nor was it channeled. This book is about encounters with ordinary people in daily situations. Another unusual aspect of this book is that it is connected with a company other than mine: Lyft. I want to take this opportunity to thank those at Lyft for hiring such amazing people. You see, this book is about life principles I gathered from brief interactions with Lyft drivers and fellow carpoolers – total strangers…
Lyft is a ride and shared ride service, and I was using it quite frequently in San Francisco a few months ago. My Lyft rides were intertwined with the launch of my last book, on how to discern and release behavior patterns of trauma; the teaching of my self-love course; and the care I was providing for my friend, Naomi, to whom this book is dedicated.
To read this book is to (1) find out what happened to Naomi, (2) learn how I was kept afloat in the midst of inner turmoil by short conversations with complete strangers, and ultimately, (3) to discover what I’m calling the Principles of an UpLyfted Life.
I am launching this book today to honor my father, Nathaniel. This is the first of my books he read cover to cover in one sitting. For a person who doesn’t love reading and would rather be playing golf, this was a wonderfully genuine show of interest in the subject matter.
As I mention in the book, sometimes unexpected gifts come to us in beautiful ways – this little book is a collection of such gifts. I’m excited to share these blessings with you! I invite you to read Angels Who UpLyft: A Celebration of Diversity, on Amazon, and let me know what you think or write a review.
