Make America Think Again: Book Launch
As we celebrate Independence Day, let’s consider what that means for us. How might we liberate ourselves as Americans in this moment?
Previously, we wrote about how we might liberate ourselves when it comes to healthcare, which is just one example of how we are becoming mired in systems that don’t serve us well, and certainly don’t give us freedom.
Another imminent threat facing us is climate change. President Trump’s decision to back out of the Paris agreement has gifted businesses, states, and cities with a reason to step up and take more targeted and unified action.
A third pervasive social ill involves racism and social injustice, which continue to plague us.
The current political situation is harming all these issues: climate change, health, and social justice. It’s no wonder that other countries’ confidence in us as a nation is plummeting for the most part.
For those of us who are busy going about our usual daily routines without a clear understanding of what we can do to make a difference, climate change, healthcare, and social injustice together present daunting and seemingly insurmountable problems. Fortunately, our daily actions can help fight climate change AND make us healthier and more compassionate. Most importantly, we can secure the future of our children. We just need to know what to do.
In my new book, Personal and Planetary Wellness: Addressing Climate Change, Health, and Social Justice Challenges, I present a collection of short essays on topics that relate to how we can become stronger leaders right now in our existing professions, families, and communities. I share simple strategies for fighting climate change, taking charge of and improving wellness, fighting injustices, and being more mindful and creative. Each essay contains a reflection, guiding you to think a little more deeply about your own power as a consumer and leader, as well as highlighting what you can do right now to make a difference.
You can read the Introduction right now. Then, grab a copy via CreateSpace, Amazon, or Kindle, and start making a change today. You are truly more powerful than you know. Also, write to me! Share your experience with this manual for leadership, and help make it better.
Together, let’s make America think again.
